Was this after Mary had the Absinthe or after Abe drank it and was wobbling? Or party time for both of them? I always had the feeling Mary put up with more than we heard about.
I believe it’s how Abe looked to Mary after she had been slurping from the absinthe well. I suspect you are right that Mary had to put up with a lot living with Mr. Stove Pipe Hat– nasty beard hairs everywhere, footprints on the ceiling, speeches scribbled on every single scrap of paper. No wonder the poor dear drank!
What’s this about? The picture looks sharp and clear to me.
Come to think of it, Bill, I think you’re on to something here. And Abe looks a little like that Rutherford B. Hayes fellow.
